Zahid Hussain, 39-year-old shipping professional residing in Ras Al Khaimah, claimed the top prize of Dh5000 in the Physical Category Male. He demonstrated an outstanding HbA1c reduction from 10.49 to 6.59. HbA1c is your average blood glucose (sugar) levels for the last two to three months.

The one of its kind challenge aimed at reducing the biomarkers of the disease proved that diabetes can be very effectively managed and even reversed by modifying your lifestyle. أعلن مستشفى رأس الخيمة نجاح تحدي مرض السكري لعام 2022، وهو مبادرة مجتمعية أطلقتها المستشفى بالتعاون مع وزارة الصحة ووقاية المجتمع لمدة 12 أسبوعاً، في استقطاب أكثر من 3000 مشترك في البرنامج. وتهدف المبادرة إلى إنقاص مؤشرات المرض الحيوية لدى مرضى السكري وخصوصاً مستويات الهيموجلوبين الجلوكوزي A1C ومؤشر كتلة الجسم، ونظّمت أولى ندواتها الإلكترونية بعنوان «الانتصار على مرض السكري» للتوعية بالمرض وأعراضه وسبل الوقاية منه واستراتيجيات العلاج والسيطرة عليه.
